Being a referee is often a thankless job, but at Onsted Wildcats Soccer, we truly appreciate the time, dedication, and professionalism you bring to every match. Referees play a vital role in creating a fun, fair, and safe environment where young athletes can learn and enjoy the game.
Whether you’re an experienced official or interested in becoming a referee, youth soccer officiating is a rewarding way to stay involved in the game, develop leadership skills, build confidence, and earn extra income while making a positive impact on our soccer community.

Who Can Officiate?
- Anyone 13 years of age or older
- Current or former players
- Parents
- High school and college students
- Adults interested in giving back to the game
Referee Certification & Equipment
OWS supports new referees who are willing to help cover games during the season. Referees who complete the required certification course may be reimbursed by OWS after officiating an agreed-upon number of games during the season.
To remain in good standing with OWS, referees are expected to officiate the number of games discussed and agreed upon with the Referee Director each season.
Referees are responsible for purchasing their own referee kit and equipment.
